Assistant Professor, PhD

I work as an assistant professor (yliassistentti in Finnish) on the Department of Biological and Environmental Science of the University of Jyväskylä. I received my degree of MSc (in engineering) in May, 1993 from the Department of Information Technology of Lappeenranta University of Technology, and the degree of PhD in December, 2002 from the Department of Mathematical Information Technology of the University of Jyväskylä. I live in Jyväskylä with my wife, Anne-Maija, and daughters, Linnea and Eveliina (born in 2002 and 2004).

My hobbies include sports, listening to good music, and watching movies.
