Our neural data analysis tools are based on the Tree-Structured Self-Organizing Map by Koikkalainen [4, 5]. It is an improved version of Self-Organizing Map, in which the training speed has been improved by the use of a tree-like search structure. The tree structure also eliminates most of the parameter adjustments needed with normal SOMs. Our key goal has been to build an iterative and interactive framework, which can be used to analyze almost all kinds of data, and make the results visual.
